The Numerology of your Year
What is your personal numerology for the year?
Each year has its own numerology, which you can find by adding the numbers together. For example, 2023 is a seven year. (2 + 0 + 2 + 3 = 7) We have our own personal numerology each year that starts on January 1 when we kick off the new year. Over the course of 9 years, we move through the entire cycle.
FINDING YOUR NUMEROLOGY
To find your personal year, add the numbers of your month, day, and the current year. For example, if your birthday is January 16, you would add:
January is the first month of the year. So, add:
1 +
1 + 6 +
2 + 0 + 2 + 3 =
These add up to 15
Add those numbers until you come up with one single number.
1 + 5 = 6
They add up to a 6 year!

Personal Year - 1
A fresh start and a new beginning. This is a year of transition, with opportunities and new beginnings. You’re independent and have personal ambition. 1 is associated with the Sun, and it’s a year to let yourself shine!! The seeds you plant this year will manifest over the next nine years. So, be intentional about how you spend your time and energy.
Personal Year 2
Relationships are a priority in a 2 year. It’s when you meet friends and connect with others. You might form collaborations and partnerships. You’re grounding and nurturing the seeds you planted in your 1 year. It’s a Moon year, a year of stabilizing your home life and leaning on others.
Personal Year 3
This is a social year full of energy and creativity. 3 is associated with Jupiter, and expansion is the keyword. You’re welcoming all kinds of opportunities, and you may be studying or learning a new craft. Communication and self-expression are more important this year. You have more energy, but be selective with your commitments. Don’t take on too much!
Personal Year 4
Slow and steady wins the race for a 4 year. This is a busy year, and your work here pays off in your 8 year. You‘ll work hard but create new structures to support your goals and dreams. However, try not to work too hard, or you could get sick! It’s a year of commitments, but sometimes, your choices can make you feel stuck or frustrated. Keep powering through!
Personal Year 5
A 5 year frees you from the 4-year’s constraints. This is a year for change that leads you to more freedom. In a 5 year, we often travel, have adventures, or meet people from outside of our daily life. We can be more restless in a 5 year, which is why it’s good to have creative and physical outlets for stress. It’s a good year to break habits or make health changes.
Personal Year 6
During your 6 year, love is a theme. You’re assessing your commitments and heart connections. Family is a big focus for you, and it’s a time for healing. You may be caring for sick relatives or nurturing children. You may feel more obligated to help others in a 6-year than at other times. It’s a year for beautifying your space and for connecting.
Personal Year 7
We’re all moving into a 7 year in 2023. If this is your personal year, it’s an introspective time. You may feel lonely or you may be removed from others. Think: Spiritual retreat. It’s a sacred time, and people often take time off to write a book or attend an intensive healing program. You are pulling back to clear the way forward.
Personal Year 8
An 8-year is a time for harvesting. It’s when your efforts culminate in success. It’s the most visible of the 9-year cycle, and it’s a great time to promote yourself or your work. 8 is the number of karma (think: infinity sign), and you lay the groundwork for the successes coming in year 8 throughout the previous seven years. It’s a powerful year.
Personal Year 9
Year 9 is a time to close chapters and bring things to a conclusion. It’s often a time to clear the slate for the next year, and it’s been associated with losses and letting go. You may want to declutter or downsize. You might need to pull back with work and allow more time for relaxation. It can be a time of confusion when you just don’t know what’s coming next. Often, people start grasping an idea of the new seeds they’ll plant in the next year.
