April Horoscopes

OVERVIEW OF THE MONTH

We begin April with the Full Moon on April 1, giving April Fool’s Day a jolt. This lunation helps us identify where it’s wise to take a leap of faith and where it’s best to hold back. The energy is dynamic, as the Moon—our emotional safety and need for connection—stands in contrast to the Aries planets, reminding us that our personal lives are deeply affected by what’s happening on the world stage.

This relationship-focused Full Moon stretches us to consider the ways we don’t feel free and what we’re going to do about it. We’re learning to recognize the difference between internal and external limitations, and how often the “outer” restrictions of our lives mirror hidden inner limits in the subconscious.

This Libra Moon also weaves together Neptune and Saturn, highlighting the tension between spiritual yearning and practical reality. The lunation chart includes an applying square from Venus to Pluto, revealing fractures in relationships and helping us determine a course of healing. We are transforming relationships this year in meaningful, if sometimes dramatic, ways.

On April 9, Mars enters Aries and quickly moves toward a conjunction with Neptune on April 12. Mars in Aries amplifies the fire, fueling resolve, drive, and the desire to accomplish our goals. Take your time with this influence. It’s intensely personal and highly individuating: it heightens the need for autonomy and can make anything restrictive feel intolerable.

Create space in your life for what makes you feel most free. Choose healthy outlets for the heat. Move your body. Your choices are more decisive. Act with courage but not recklessness.

Transits on the World Stage

I’ll also note that April marks a global crisis point. The chart for NATO, for example, shows a Mars return, with transiting Saturn conjunct its Mercury during this period. Saturn continues to conjoin Mars and Venus in NATO’s chart in May, before retrograding and revisiting these points in the fall. These transits point to the restructuring of alliances and shifting priorities on the world stage.

Meanwhile, the planets in the Aries stellium form squares to Venus, Jupiter, the Sun, and Mercury in the United States chart dated July 4, 1776. The square from Saturn indicates the potential for heightened geopolitical stressors for the U.S., particularly around allied relationships, financial concerns, and matters involving the judiciary.
