May Horoscopes

May greets us with a white dove, signaling peace as Venus conjoins Neptune on May 2. This transit opens us to strategic thinking, helping us see how we can relate to our adversaries or have compassion for those who've harmed those we love. The influence of Aries invites us to dream new dreams and imagine what seeds we'll plant as the season evolves.

On May 4, Pluto stations retrograde, inviting us to explore the hidden realms of our inner world. It asks us to consider our debts and allegiances. To whom or what do we owe things? With Pluto in Aquarius, this question expands well beyond our world and forces us to consider the institutions, policies, and global factors that keep us in our roles. It calls us to reflect on our position within the collective. Consequently, your view of those systems could shift over the next several months.

Mercury enters Taurus on May 10, turning our attention to the practicalities of life, like, What's for dinner? Or, where do I want to vacation this summer? It's a time to make plans, gather with loved ones, and be present for the sensual experience of the change in seasons.

The Scorpio Full Moon on May 12 comes with a series of surprises. The Sun is close to Uranus, and a yod aspect pattern with Jupiter and Chiron points to the Moon, indicating sudden turns of events with a fated quality. Mercury in Taurus squares Pluto retrograde, signaling a desire to get to the heart of the matter, unpacking layers of misinformation to find the truth buried beneath. It's a lunation that keeps us on the edges of our seats and ushers in new waves of consciousness. We can creatively solve challenges because the tension warrants our attempts at a reprieve.

The Sun meets Uranus on May 17 before sliding into Gemini on May 20. The last time the Sun conjoined Uranus, we saw a bridge collapse and a new model of AI technology, to name a few. In the times before that, we saw buildings collapse, floods, historical court cases, and technological discoveries that made our lives easier. There's a precedent for remarkable sociopolitical and interpersonal breakthroughs in correspondence with this transit.

As the Sun moves into Gemini, it meets Sedna, urging us to confront and heal hurts resulting from betrayal and abandonment, both personal and collective. Compassion stirs within us, especially regarding our relationship with nature and how we honor the sacredness of the planet, especially the ocean waters.

On May 24, Saturn enters Aries. Let me pause and say that again, this time with feeling! Saturn. Enters. Aries. Each time I consider Saturn moving into the warrior sign, I think of the most obvious keywords for that sign: military activity, sharp objects, surgery and surgeons, and weapons, to name a few. However, Saturn is wrapping up its synodic cycle with Neptune this time. A new one begins in February 2026. Consequently, Saturn in Aries could also indicate a new paradigm emerging in response to the tragedies of war we've witnessed worldwide.

Saturn in Aries from 1996-1999 brought us the Iraq disarmament crisis, the inception of Fox News Channel, the Jon Benet Ramsay murder, NASA missions to Mars, the WNBA, the start of the animated series South Park, Bill Clinton's impeachment hearings, the Kyoto Protocol, Pokémon, and more. From 1967-1969, we saw large peace demonstrations against the Vietnam War, the Supreme Court's declaration on the legality of interracial marriage in the Loving vs. Virginia case, the Broadway musical Hair, movements in civil rights, and the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty, to list a few.

We understand that history can be cyclical, and we might expect to sense a similar hum as Saturn dips into Aries for a couple of months (May 24-September 1) before settling into the sign on February 13, 2026. We could see policy considerations for the militarization of space, including regulations regarding nuclear weapons on the Moon. We may also see more aims at colonizing the Moon or Mars, perhaps with a few attempts to venture onto the red planet.

Another transit worth noting is Chiron's conjunction with Eris on May 26. Outer-planet activations of Eris have shown us movements to address generational trauma and awareness of the pain of microaggressions seen in systems of oppression. This transit could be a healing salve for troubled relationships or anyone lacking purpose or power.

The Gemini New Moon on May 26 features a mini grand trine between the Sun, Moon, and Mercury in Gemini, Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius. I'm excited about the possibilities with this lunation! The Sabian Symbol for 7˚ Gemini is A well with a bucket and rope under the shade of majestic trees. After two months of instability and surprises, this New Moon symbolizes discovering hidden resources to support new life. It represents our ability to source the life-giving resources to flourish and grow.

Our world is changing rapidly, and the end of May gives us a glimpse into the future. Mercury's influence supports a curious approach to any foreshadowing we see. It also indicates an innovative approach to life's complications.
