About me
Some of you might not know me or be familiar with my work. So, here’s a brief introduction.
I just moved to Ojai, CA, but I’ve been in the Los Angeles area for about 12 years. I moved during a wild Uranus transit that turned my world upside-down in a good way. I’m from St. Louis, MO, and I lived in Nashville, TN, for several years.
I’m certified by the American Federation of Astrologers, and I’ll complete my ISAR certification this year at the conference. I’m also a psychic medium. I began a dedicated study of both in 1995, but I never imagined it could be a career path.
I started my career in the film industry. I’ve worked on Emmy-award-winning projects and incredible social-justice documentaries. Then, I took some time off to write a book. Through one of the documentaries I worked on, I became involved with an organization that helped women reintegrate into society after prison. It also provided resources for children with incarcerated mothers and their caregivers. I was asked to author a book chronicling the lives of thirteen of these women.
My book came out in 2002, and I switched career ambitions to nonprofit fundraising and marketing. I also worked at a PR/Marketing agency as a production manager for a brief time. Thanks, Gemini Moon!
I started my astrology practice in 2006. I gave three free readings, and my practice grew from referrals from those three people. I was recruited to join a start-up as a Marketing Director/Astrologer for a socially responsible fashion company. That job led me to LA, and my relocation chart features client work.
My client practice grew after moving here. I began working with other businesses as well as individuals. When working a full-time job and seeing clients every night and weekend became too much, I left my job.
I earned my MA in Theology in 2014, emphasizing Feminist Theology and Ethics. My research focused on the witch trials in Europe. I incorporated some of that research for my recent book, Modern Day Magic: 8 Simple Rules to Realize Your Power and Shape Your Life.
In addition to all of this, I write monthly horoscope columns for the Omega Institute and Conscious Living Magazine. I’m the Outreach Director for NCGR and the VP of the NCGR-LA chapter.
Some of my teachers/mentors include: Mediumship through a Spiritualist church and attended training intensives at Camp Chesterfield, studied astrology with Thomas Parsons, the Avalon School (in the late 90s), Bernadette Brady, STA, Joseph Crane, the late Noel Tyl, Lisa Williams, and a few others along the way.
Now, it’s your turn!
Introduce yourselves! Where are you from? What astrological background do you have? Who are your favorite teachers?
