How to build a Money Altar

Do you want to open more energy flow in the 2nd, 5th, 8th, or 11th house? You can choose one to prioritize or work with all 4. When we work with magic, the more focused we are, the better our outcomes. That’s why I recommend sticking with one or two to start.

As a reminder, here are the themes of those houses:

  • Income – 2nd House

  • Taxes – 8th House

  • Debt – 8th House

  • Saving– 2nd and 8th Houses

  • Luck – 5th House

  • Creativity – 5th House

  • Manifestation – 5th and 11th Houses

  • Receiving – 11th and 8th Houses

Look at the sign on the line of the house cusp. Identify the ruling planet for the sign.

  • Aries: Mars

  • Taurus: Venus

  • Gemini: Mercury

  • Cancer: Moon

  • Leo: Sun

  • Virgo: Mercury

  • Libra: Venus

  • Scorpio: Mars (Pluto)

  • Sagittarius: Jupiter

  • Capricorn: Saturn

  • Aquarius: Saturn (Uranus)

  • Pisces: Jupiter (Neptune)

Now, it’s time to build an altar for Modern Money Magic! Find a place in your home that reminds you of abundance, prosperity, or wealth. It could be your newly renovated bathroom or your home office.

Place items that remind you of the planet on that altar. Write your intentions, and place them there. Light a candle or burn incense to honor that planet and boost the energy going toward your intention.

If you feel stuck, here are some suggestions:

  • Mars: Red candles, bloodstone, Dragon’s Blood incense, iron oxide, beets, red agate, peppers, basil, myrrh, iron, snakeskin, tobacco, black cohosh, snapdragon

  • Venus: Rose quartz, pink, green, nickels, copper, pink roses, aventurine, fruit, jasmine incense, cardamom, lilac, vanilla, ylang-ylang, emerald, kyanite, pink tourmaline
