August Horoscopes

Our emotional landscapes are cloudy as Venus squares Saturn and Neptune in early August. Our hearts are open for genuine connections, but Mars enters Libra on August 6, inviting us to find balance through strategic partnerships. Align with your allies, and make room for compassionate conversations. Laughter through tears is a concept for the first week of August. Neptune's influence stirs emotions, while Venus in Cancer conjures nostalgia during Mercury retrograde.

The Aquarius Full Moon on August 9 highlights the polarity between individual freedom and the common good. Can you find the sweet spot between the two? The grand air trine between Mars in Leo, Uranus in Gemini, and Pluto in Aquarius shows a free-flow of conversation and an opening for communication where there have been relationship challenges. Mars trines Pluto just after, on August 10, giving us the grit to anchor what was previously only a vision. This is a transit for building resilience from creative problem-solving.

After weeks of nostalgic reflection, Mercury stations direct on August 11, offering us a peek through the fog of uncertainty. We may not be ready to launch forward or take a risk, but we have the sense that we've moved through a rich healing experience. Conversations that stalled may now resume with greater understanding, and our mindset adjusts according to the soul work we've accomplished.

August 11 also features one of the more significant transits of the quarter – Saturn in sextile to Uranus. These two planets started their synodic journey in 1988. The opposition between these two happened between 2008 and 2010. According to Georgia Stathis' research, "Saturn/Uranus is often found to radically change the direction of market cycles and evolve new communication networks." The current synodic cycle began with the rise of connectivity through the Internet and the rapid advancement of technology that brought home computing to a whole new level. That same cycle brought us into the dot-com era. The opposition coincided with a recession brought on by the mortgage crisis and bank bailouts.

What will the sextile portend? The opening sextile happened in 1996-1997. It coincided with the standardization of high-definition digital television (HDTV), the passage of legislation to deregulate telecommunications and create opportunities for cable companies, and the rapid rise of Internet usage to 44% of US households, and Dolly, the first cloned lamb, was born. Today, we gear up for the first dinosaur handbags made from cloned skins, the rapid rise in AI technology, and legislation to lift privacy restrictions on technology. These developments will lead to the upsets and advancements into the last chapter of this synodic cycle that ends in 2032.

The New Moon on August 22 at 0˚♍︎ 23' introduces us to Virgo season. The Sabian symbol for this degree is "in a portrait, the significant features of a man's head are artistically emphasized." This symbolism suggests a tendency to identify the most critical details of ourselves and our lives, separating what's essential from distractions. We could view the entire Virgo season through this lens, remembering to stay mentally agile as we aim toward the eclipses in September.

The lunation chart for the New Moon features a yod with the Virgo Sun and Moon at the apex in quincunx aspects to Pluto in Aquarius and Neptune and Saturn in Aries. We may need to let something go and make space in our lives for something new to awaken – a miracle or answered prayer.

Venus enters Leo on August 25 and settles into a sextile with Uranus, trine to Neptune, and opposition to Pluto on the 26th. Expect a few relationship hiccups as these energies shift currents in the love flow. We have the dreams of Neptune with the shadows of Pluto, meaning less evolved motives may cloud our ability to speak from the heart. Your inner adolescent may need to act out in rebellion against stagnancy or lack of attention. Alternatively, your feelings for a crush could amplify, carrying you into daydreams. Fortunately, Saturn's influence helps stabilize our emotions by offering a dose of reality. These transits signify big feelings of love and grand gestures to accompany them.

On August 28, Uranus is in its opening sextile with Neptune. This is one of the more significant transits of the season, as it offers us a blueprint for spiritual growth and an amplification of cosmic energy here on Earth. Technological innovation, mystical awareness, and ecological wisdom can start to merge. This transit is part of a synodic cycle that began in 1993 when the two planets conjoined. We have several more partile aspects – November 20, 2025, July 15, 2026, January 15, 2027, and June 6, 2027.

The influence may be subtle, but it's seismic. We're moving through a collective re-enchantment. With Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Aries, we could see an enhancement in spiritual communication, like mediumship or telepathy. Could this also be when we discover evidence of life on other planets or encounter beings from other realms? Stay tuned!

Those possibilities aside, this sextile offers us hope as it inspires our imagination and sends unimaginable ideas into the collective realm. I'm reading about the super telescope that will help scientists map the universe right now! How will that shape our worldview? With Uranus and Neptune, the possibilities are endless.
